Dr. Nilesh Kumar is a dedicated library professional with over 23 years of experience in managing and modernizing library services. Currently serving as the Deputy Librarian at the Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu), he has played a key role in enhancing library resources and digital access for students and researchers.
He holds a PhD from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, with research focused on content analysis of university library websites in India. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mathematics from Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU), Bhagalpur. Subsequently, he pursued a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and qualified for the UGC-NET in Library and Information Science.
Dr. Kumar has worked with prestigious institutions like BHU, ISRO, and BBAU throughout his professional journey, contributing significantly to library development and information management. He has authored research papers, book chapters, and two books, while also organizing national seminars and workshops on library technologies. His expertise in digital library solutions and passion for mentoring young professionals make him a valuable contributor to the field of library and information science in India.
Apart from his professional commitments, he has a keen interest in poetry and story writing. He is also enthusiastic about taking on new assignments and exploring diverse creative and intellectual pursuits.
